Reducing poverty in the Democratic Republic of the Congo requires systemic solutions: a change in living conditions that is sustainable over time. Some of the strategic needs of this country are: ensuring the scalability of agriculture, reducing food insecurity and reducing pressure on natural resources.
Recently, thanks to funding from Nous Cims and CODESPA’s experience of more than 15 years in the country, there was a substantial change in the area occupied by five communities of Shasha and Sake, near Goma, capital of North Kivu. During this initiative, low-cost technologies adapted to the needs of producers were identified, achieving increased productivity and food safety.
These materials highlight the steps necessary to implement a rural market development project.
